"This guy meets a beautiful girl, maybe so in a library"

"This guy tries to talk to the girl, and he is close talking to her face to face"
Where I wait days with no return
"He may have given her his number, but she has never called him"

"As he never got a call back, he feels that the girl ignored him"

"She's the most beautiful girl that he has ever seen, that he'd love to go out with"

"He'll never learn as he says going after this girl, is the best mistake he's made. Likely he'll do it again"

So the narrative of this song is talking about the girls that this guy has tried to get and goes through the two different events. So the first event where he gives this girl his number but then the girl never gets back to her. Then he meets another girl, another day. Because of how beautiful she is and he believes that he can't get her. But he gets surprised that the girl likes him, but while their in a relationship, the girl doesn't enjoy his company anymore.
